This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assess answers provided by California teacher candidates on test questions.

• Grasp and internalize the established scoring standards.

• Engage in discussions and consensus scoring activities alongside fellow scorers.

• Identify and address biases such as implicit, cultural, leniency, central tendency, and halo-effect biases.

• Implement strategies aimed at minimizing personal biases during scoring.

• Adhere to quality and productivity standards set for the scoring program.

• Complete all necessary training and potentially attend an orientation prior to scoring.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a native speaker of the relevant language, holding a college/university degree, or possess a graduate degree in that language, or have a Single Subject Teaching Credential in the appropriate language, or be a college/university educator with a degree in the language and/or teaching or advising students in that field, or have authorization to teach the corresponding language in California public schools, or have prior experience as a scorer for the Single Subject Assessments for Teaching in the appropriate language, or have served as a CTC-approved member of the relevant CSET language test development or standard setting committee.

• Must be a resident of California.

• Must have the eligibility to work in the United States.

• Basic computer skills are required, including proficiency in using a keyboard and mouse.

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods is necessary.

• Must maintain a confidential work environment.

• Must successfully pass a qualifying test prior to scoring.

• Relevant languages include: German, Farsi, Filipino/Tagalog, Hebrew, Hindi, Hmong, Khmer, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, or Vietnamese.
