This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Offer prompt guidance and consultation regarding manager, associate, and labor matters in both non-union and unionized environments.
• Interpret policies and contracts while providing insights on performance management.
• Support associate disciplinary actions and conduct investigations.
• Address employment inquiries, questions, and cases with consistency, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Identify and resolve issues through effective questioning and risk assessment.
• Mentor managers on policy interpretation, management of collective bargaining agreements, associate conduct, and performance management.
• Conduct research using confidential company records, online knowledge articles, and Ministry policies and procedures.
• Advise managers on consistent policy enforcement and conflict resolution strategies.
• Investigate low to medium-risk issues by planning investigations, gathering facts, interviewing witnesses, reviewing comparable cases, and determining suitable actions.
• Collaborate with the Advice & Counsel Center of Excellence and cross-functional partners.
• Work with stakeholders while ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
• Utilize computer systems to document facts, research previous issues and resolutions, and extract risk-assessment and trend data.
• Review employee concerns related to management.
• Collaborate with the Leave of Absence team to assist with accommodations and ensure compliance with leave policies.
• Bachelor’s Degree (4-year) is required.
• Degrees in Human Resources or equivalent fields such as Business or Industrial Psychology are accepted.
• PHR certification is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in Human Resources.
• Outstanding customer service, communication, interpersonal, listening, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
• Capability to probe based on provided responses.
• Proficient in organizing and presenting information in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to establish rapport and effectively convey challenging information.
• Experienced in interviewing employees, witnesses, and supervisors; preparing comprehensive documentation; and maintaining organized files.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information responsibly.
• Familiarity with Federal and State Employment Law.
• Consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Preferred: 2 years of HR experience focused on the investigation, research, and resolution of issues involving managers and associates.
