This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and oversee the insurance licensing program for corporate entities, producers, franchise entities, and acquired agencies.
• Set licensing standards, verification processes, exceptions, regulatory filings, and maintain the system of record.
• Own the enterprise insurance licensing policy, operating procedures, responsibility matrix, control calendar, standards for evidence, and exception processes.
• Maintain a comprehensive framework of state-specific licensing requirements, authority lines, responsible licensed producers, affiliations, continuing education, assumed names, branch regulations, renewals, and filings.
• Manage corporate applications, renewals, amendments, reinstatements, affiliations, producer modifications, address and officer updates, assumed names, and related filings.
• Define and oversee licensing prerequisites for franchise onboarding, renewals, ownership changes, transfers, producer additions, relocations, terminations, and expansions.
• Establish licensing requirements prior to carrier appointments or market access, reconciling licensing, appointment, carrier portal, and internal producer records.
• Own the annual and periodic filings, regulatory inquiries, examination support, document production, remediation plans, and management responses.
• Create and maintain a controlled system of record for licensing using NIPR, state portals, and other authoritative sources.
• Automate renewal notifications, exception queues, reconciliations, and dashboards while reviewing state-specific requirements and significant exceptions.
• Link licensing status to onboarding, access, appointment, commission, and offboarding workflows.
• Monitor regulatory changes and translate them into ownership assignments, due dates, system updates, communications, and training.
• Lead licensing due diligence and integration efforts for acquisitions.
• Provide quarterly risk and performance reports to executive leadership.
• Train support staff, document recurring processes, and suggest future staffing needs based on workload and risk.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
• Seven or more years of progressive experience in insurance producer, agency, or regulatory licensing, with significant multi-state property and casualty exposure.
• At least three years of experience in owning a licensing program, managing complex licensing workflows, or supervising licensing professionals.
• Practical experience with individual and business entity licenses, designated responsible licensed producers, lines of authority, affiliations, renewals, continuing education, appointments, and state-specific exceptions.
• Capability to build controls, reconcile data, manage exceptions, document procedures, prepare for regulatory examinations, and collaborate across distribution or franchise operations, carrier relations, Human Resources, Finance, Technology, and Legal departments.
• Familiarity with NIPR and one or more licensing platforms such as Sircon, AgentSync, RegEd, or Creative Compliance, along with CRM and workflow systems.
• Strong judgment and communication skills, with the capability to clarify requirements, document uncertainties, and provide direct recommendations to executives, employees, and franchise owners.
• Experience in a national independent agency, insurance franchise, aggregator, or acquisition-focused brokerage is highly preferred.
• Licensing due diligence and integration experience in mergers and acquisitions is strongly preferred.
