Associate Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Negotiate and draft contracts, amendments, and various legal documents.

• Provide prompt legal counsel to executives concerning agreements between Ryan entities and trading partners.

• Ensure adherence to the Company’s market security protocols.

• Advise business units on contract stipulations.

• Conduct research and assess risk factors associated with business decisions and operations.

• Employ risk management strategies and proactively offer guidance on potential legal matters.

• Communicate and engage in negotiations with external parties.

• Manage intricate issues involving multiple stakeholders.

• Implement company policies and procedures in relation to trading-partner agreements.

• Collaborate with seasoned professionals within the team.

• Cultivate expertise in open brokerage and binding authority agreements, including Delegated Underwriting Authority agreements with Lloyd’s of London.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree with two years of relevant experience or equivalent practical experience.

• Valid license to practice law in at least one state.

• Background in contracts and contract interpretation.

• Proficient in negotiating and drafting agreements and amendments.

• Familiarity with legal research and risk assessment.

• Capability to advise executives and business units on contract conditions.

• Proficient in applying risk management techniques.

• Skilled in communicating and negotiating with external parties.

• Competent in managing complex matters involving various stakeholders.

• Experience with open brokerage, binding authority, and Delegated Underwriting Authority agreements, including those with Lloyd’s of London.
