Associate General Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance and advice to the business regarding federal and state regulations affecting mortgage lending, financial services, and employment.

• Create, assess, and negotiate commercial contracts.

• Assist with updates to underwriting guidelines.

• Offer legal support for the Company's technological projects.

• Lead the Company's strategy for default servicing, litigation, foreclosure, and bankruptcy.

• Supervise third-party servicers and external legal counsel.

• Manage issues related to the preservation, listing, and sale of REO properties.

• Work in collaboration with the Capital Markets team on securitization deals.

• Aid in matters of board governance.

• Collaborate with executive leadership and the board to enhance governance, controls, and operational compliance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a recognized law school.

• Active law license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, maintaining good standing.

• Over 8 years of pertinent legal experience within the financial services sector, including roles as in-house counsel.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to foster relationships and trust throughout the organization.

• Strong negotiation capabilities, business insight, and the proficiency to balance legal risks with business objectives.

• Capability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

• Aptitude for reviewing and maintaining documentation with meticulous attention to detail.
