Associate General Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate commercial agreements for both brands, including co-manufacturing, supply, distribution, retail, vendor, and service contracts.

• Provide guidance to marketing and brand teams regarding advertising claims, substantiation of claims, label compliance, and adherence to FDA/FTC regulatory standards for dietary supplements and beverages.

• Draft and oversee agreements with influencers, athletes, ambassadors, sponsorships, endorsements, and NIL, ensuring compliance with social media terms and disclosure regulations.

• Address matters related to trademarks, copyrights, trade dress, and advertising clearance.

• Oversee compliance with consumer protection laws, privacy regulations, and subscription/auto-renewal requirements.

• Coordinate litigation and regulatory responses, including NAD challenges and inquiries from state Attorneys General, in collaboration with outside counsel.

• Operate within two affiliated companies.

• Prioritize tasks effectively and manage relationships with outside counsel and legal budgets.

• Collaborate directly with business teams and report to the Chief Legal Officer.

⛳️ Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing in Florida, or licensed in another U.S. state and eligible for Florida Authorized House Counsel certification under Chapter 17 of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar.

• A minimum of 3 years of in-house legal experience.

• Between 3 to 5 years of experience working in a law firm.

• Strong background in commercial law and contracts.

• Preferred experience in dietary supplements (DSHEA) and food/beverage regulatory matters.

• Preference for candidates with experience in FTC advertising, claim substantiation, and influencer-disclosure compliance.

• Experience in trademark law is a plus.

• Preferred experience in privacy and data security law.
