This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Identify and source new client opportunities in Venture Banking.

• Secure new relationships and onboard clients under the guidance of the Managing Director.

• Manage client relationships throughout their lifecycle.

• Develop and retain Venture Banking clients, focusing on loan and deposit opportunities.

• Supervise the loan underwriting and origination processes.

• Stay informed about the venture capital ecosystem and the bank's products and services.

• Present and negotiate term sheets with potential clients.

• Handle final credit and loan document negotiations in collaboration with teammates and external counsel.

• Identify non-lending opportunities through deposit and treasury management platforms.

• Promote and cross-sell products to current customers.

• Lead or assist with strategic team projects.

• Address issues related to company performance and compliance.

• Collaborate with Credit and SAG to manage troubled credits when necessary.

• Engage with VC firms and portfolio companies, fostering referral relationships, attending networking events, and traveling as required.

• Keep updated on economic conditions and trends in the VC market.

• Provide advice on underwriting, lead diligence calls, and take charge of final credit materials.

• Assist in preparing final credit approval packages and present them to the credit team.

• Oversee loan documentation from issuance to negotiation and finalization.

• Support the Closer and PA throughout the closing and onboarding process.

• Act as the primary contact after closing.

• Collaborate on portfolio management, conduct client and investor update calls, and seek ways to enhance client relationships.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

• Experience in underwriting and servicing credits typical of venture banking.

• Comprehensive understanding of bank lending policies, procedures, and criteria.

• High level of self-motivation, commitment, creativity, and perseverance.

• Preferred: at least 2 years of experience in the Venture Banking/VC industry.

• Preferred: additional experience in team and portfolio management.

• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Strong financial analysis and modeling capabilities.

• Good judgment.

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements, including BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC.
