This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Collaborate with executives from portfolio companies, deal teams, and operating partners to formulate and refine a value creation strategy that aligns with the Investment Thesis.
• Build trust with stakeholders and assist in guiding the executive teams of portfolio companies in prioritizing strategic initiatives and crafting Value Creation Plans.
• Propel critical priorities and outcomes through actionable solutions and plans.
• Establish governance and processes to monitor strategic initiatives and ensure transparency in value creation efforts.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and assess risks to the Investment Thesis and annual plans.
• Proactively address potential challenges.
• Serve as a counterpart to the Directors of Strategic Programs at portfolio companies, linking them to the wider Vista ecosystem.
• Reassess competing demands across various portfolio companies and deal teams utilizing independent judgment.
• Identify and assist in the implementation of AI use cases while tracking and reporting on AI impact metrics.
• Lead and support internal cross-functional strategic projects aimed at enhancing Vista’s best practices and improving outcomes for portfolio companies.
• Bachelor’s degree required; an MBA from a highly regarded program is strongly preferred.
• Approximately eight to twelve years of experience following undergraduate education.
• Experience at a top management consulting firm, encompassing both strategy and operational/implementation work.
• Background in an operating role responsible for execution and outcomes, preferably within a software, technology, or rapidly growing business.
• Extensive project and process management experience with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
• A sincere, hands-on interest in AI and emerging technologies.
• Comfortable piloting and refining initial imperfect versions.
• Familiarity with go-to-market and/or product organizations and processes.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Influential leadership capabilities.
• Proficient in leading and managing relationships with executive audiences and senior stakeholders.
• Capable of structuring complex, large questions with minimal guidance.
• Ability to multitask and work independently.
• Based in Austin, Chicago, or remote.
• Willingness to travel to engage onsite with portfolio companies as needed.
