This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +3 more states.
• Develop, oversee, and engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within the designated geographic area.
• Foster advocacy for Keenova’s products among KOLs.
• Manage speaker engagements and gather insights and beliefs from KOLs.
• Identify, nurture, and sustain relationships with regional KOLs in specialized fields.
• Facilitate in-depth KOL engagement with Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), Centers of Excellence, and professional organizations.
• Identify, map, and manage relationships with national associations and significant treatment facilities.
• Coordinate and lead one-on-one interactions between Keenova teams and KOLs.
• Attend and oversee brand activities at regional and targeted national conferences.
• Manage regional sponsorships and take ownership of the regional congress plan.
• Organize executive meetings with KOLs at national conferences.
• Assist with conference and speaker contract requirements.
• Collaborate with marketing to ensure timely delivery of congress materials.
• Develop cohesive external engagement strategies across medical, training, marketing, and sales divisions.
• Work with sales on KOL engagement at conferences and other KOL/account interactions.
• Provide market insights and input for peer-to-peer development, advisory boards, and strategic planning.
• Support Marketing in formulating board strategies, content, and advisory recommendations.
• Participate in advisory boards as needed.
• Coordinate relationships within the KOL speaker bureau and assist with speaker training.
• Deliver congress insights summaries to the marketing team.
• Report to the Thought Leader Liaison Lead through Specialty Brands Marketing.
• Operate independently with minimal direction in a field-based role supporting the Immunology Business Unit.
• Frequently travel within the US and occasionally to the corporate office.
• 8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industries in customer-facing roles.
• 5+ years of experience in thought leader engagement, including medical affairs, marketing, sales/sales leadership, or clinical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in the field of Ophthalmology.
• Experience in creating and implementing key strategies for healthcare professionals (HCPs).
• Proven track record in developing and executing KOL mapping and plans, as well as fostering KOL advocacy in targeted therapeutic areas.
• Clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge with proficiency in complex disease states.
• Established relationships with KOLs, opinion leaders, and centers of excellence.
• Strong skills in building relationships and navigating strategic accounts.
• Excellent decision-making skills and adherence to the highest ethical standards.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including a confident executive presence.
• Ability to forge productive partnerships and collaborate effectively in a matrix organization.
• Capacity to creatively solve problems in an organized and systematic manner.
• High level of organizational awareness and understanding of interdependencies and the overall picture.
• Exceptional critical thinking skills to identify educational gaps, analyze findings, provide recommendations, and articulate next steps.
• Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory environment surrounding pharmaceutical promotional activities, industry guidelines, and compliance issues.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Extensive field travel is mandatory.
• Willingness to work evenings and select weekends.
• Proximity to a hub airport is recommended.
