Associate Director – Start-Up and Commissioning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of skilled project managers focused on the initiation, commissioning, and field modifications of Carrier products within the Data Center sector.

• Create a preparedness assessment for the start-up and commissioning team.

• Guarantee the allocation of project managers and technician resources for start-up and commissioning initiatives.

• Collaborate closely with data center clients, contractors, subcontractors, and commissioning agents.

• Lead the development of comprehensive project plans for each customer site throughout the entire project lifecycle.

• Implement project plans punctually, within the defined scope, and adhering to budget constraints.

• Systematically monitor and evaluate both planned and actual start-up and commissioning activities.

• Ensure flawless execution in a timely manner at client locations.

• Meet customer performance standards, address issues, and escalate concerns to senior leadership when necessary.

• Serve as the primary contact for start-up and commissioning activities.

• Facilitate effective handover to the field service National Team and the customer program office.

• Continuously enhance business and operational processes while driving productivity across the value chain.

• Consistently meet or surpass customer expectations.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Over 8 years of experience in direct or indirect leadership roles within operations, sales, aftermarket, strategy, or general management.

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% of the time domestically and internationally (including Canada) based on business needs.

• Proven technical aptitude and/or learning agility.

• Demonstrated experience in leading and executing complex projects.

• Background in supervising field service technicians.

• Extensive experience in field service operations.

• Strong capability to lead and nurture diverse, cross-functional project teams.

• Established track record of leading large programs efficiently while demonstrating a proactive approach.

• Proven ability to manage teams through influence and relationships, without formal authority.

• Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing project management tools.

• Knowledgeable in service operations from initiation to end-of-life replacement.

• Effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats across diverse audiences.

• Ability to swiftly identify innovative methods to enhance efficiency and simplify processes.

• Capacity to think creatively, innovate, take calculated risks, and implement progressive, sustainable solutions.

• Proven success in continuously refining processes and driving field productivity.
