This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the everyday management of the SEO Specialist team, including task intake, triage, and prioritization of SEO assignments and requests.
• Directly oversee Lead SEO Specialists and SEO Specialists, managing staffing, workload allocation, quality assurance, and delivery timelines.
• Mentor and manage the Specialist responsible for pre-launch SEO on web projects.
• Supervise pre-launch SEO deliverables, which encompass technical setups, migration checklists, redirect mapping, and information architecture reviews.
• Act as the primary contact and quality reviewer for pre-launch SEO initiatives, collaborating with the Web, Development, UX, and Project Management teams.
• Conduct SEO audits across the department, including scoping, resourcing, oversight of execution, and final quality assessments.
• Lead pre-sales SEO support activities, including audits, technical assessments, and providing SEO insights for pitches, RFPs, and proposals.
• Manage and deliver agreed-upon SEO products from kickoff through to completion.
• Collaborate with the Director of SEO Operations regarding capacity planning, staffing forecasts, escalations, and departmental priorities.
• Establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance (QA) standards for Specialist work, pre-launch SEO, audits, and pre-sales engagements.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex or high-stakes technical SEO challenges.
• Work closely with SEO Strategists, Content, UX, Development, Sales, and Media teams.
• Provide regular reports and status updates to the Director of SEO Operations.
• Identify gaps in processes and workflows, propose solutions, and drive ongoing improvements.
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and professional development planning for the Specialist team.
• Ensure work aligns with current search trends, algorithm changes, LLM/AI search behaviors, and technical SEO best practices.
• Manage SEO projects and coordinate internal resources and Sales to define short-term SEO projects.
• Handle client communications and project management as necessary.
• Oversee the internal Link Building service and maintain internal partner databases.
• 5–7+ years of experience in SEO, covering technical SEO, audits, pre-launch/migration SEO, and pre-sales support.
• Proven leadership experience managing a team, including other managers and leads.
• Strong comprehension of the complete SEO lifecycle: strategy, execution, quality assurance, reporting, and refinement.
• Capability to manage daily team operations at scale.
• Demonstrated success in partnering with Sales or New Business teams on pitches, proposals, or scoping activities.
• Ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects, competing priorities, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for pre-sales and client-facing situations.
• High proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Botify/DeepCrawl, SEOClarity/BrightEdge, and other standard SEO tools.
• Advanced spreadsheet capabilities, including formulas, data manipulation, and trend analysis.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and popular CMS platforms such as WordPress, Shopify, Magento, and BigCommerce.
• Experience collaborating with Development, UX, and Project Management teams during web launches and migrations.
• Must reside in the USA.
