Associate Director, Sales Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Lead and implement field operations strategies that support both commercial and medical field teams across various therapeutic areas.

• Develop scalable processes, tools, and policies to ensure compliant and efficient field operations.

• Guide the processes, governance, and performance standards of field operations.

• Collaborate with senior commercial leadership to anticipate operational requirements and implement proactive solutions.

• Oversee the administration of CRM platforms, roster systems, and reporting portals; work with IT partners for enhancements.

• Facilitate committees and processes for the compliant design, documentation, and administration of incentive plans.

• Design and manage incentive compensation plans for commercial field teams.

• Create tracking, attainment reconciliation, payout calculation, and standardized reporting processes for incentive compensation.

• Lead discussions in quarterly incentive compensation committees and secure stakeholder approvals.

• Manage territory, roster, and alignment for optimized coverage and compliant assignments.

• Coordinate operational onboarding elements for new field hires alongside Training, HR, and Compliance.

• Govern field communications, playbooks, and updates to processes.

• Assist in deployment planning for product launches and field-force expansions or restructures.

• Oversee standardized reporting suites, dashboards, and business insights.

• Monitor KPIs, identify performance trends, and suggest operational enhancements.

• Collaborate with Analytics and Data Operations to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliant usage.

• Ensure that field processes conform to FDA, OIG, and corporate compliance expectations.

• Maintain audit-ready documentation and control of field interactions in accordance with Compliance regulations.

• Lead ongoing improvement projects for field operations systems and processes.

• Collaborate with Commercial, Medical Affairs, IT, Legal, HR, and Finance to ensure field readiness.

• Represent Field Operations in strategic planning, governance, and launch preparation activities.

• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.

• More than 10 years of experience in Field Operations, Commercial Operations, Sales Operations, or related fields within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.

• Demonstrated experience in developing strategic and equitable incentive compensation plans.

• Proven leadership experience in overseeing complex operational programs that support field-based teams.

• Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, and industry compliance standards related to field activities.

• Experience in managing CRM systems such as Veeva, field analytics platforms, and roster/alignment technologies.

• Established ability to collaborate across various functions and influence senior-level stakeholders.

• Experience supporting product launches in small to mid-sized biotech organizations is preferred.

• Previous management experience leading high-performing operations teams is preferred.

• Advanced analytical skills and familiarity with field insights or forecasting tools.

• Capability to design and scale SOPs, governance frameworks, and operational infrastructure.

• Strong project management skills and adaptability to fast-paced, evolving environments.
