This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Lead, coach, develop, and oversee a regional team of Oncology Field Reimbursement Managers.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard a team that is prepared for portfolio responsibilities with defined role expectations, territory readiness, development plans, and accountability standards.
• Establish clear expectations for field execution, customer engagement, account prioritization, business planning, performance management, and compliant utilization of approved resources.
• Mentor Field Reimbursement Managers during field travel, ride-alongs, team meetings, business reviews, and tailored development plans.
• Ensure Field Reimbursement Managers effectively educate relevant healthcare provider office staff and account stakeholders on coverage, coding, billing, reimbursement, benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, payer requirements, product acquisition, specialty pharmacy/distribution, and affordability support.
• Convert oncology portfolio strategy, franchise priorities, payer dynamics, patient support objectives, and multiple myeloma launch readiness into actionable regional execution plans.
• Collaborate with Patient Services, Market Access, Sales, Brand, Training, Analytics, Operations, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, hub, and vendor teams.
• Define necessary training, tools, workflows, dashboards, account education priorities, and feedback mechanisms for portfolio and launch preparedness.
• Track team activities, capacity, account coverage, quality, compliance, and performance using analytics, reporting tools, field insights, and business reviews.
• Engage with key oncology and hematology accounts to identify access barriers and address complex reimbursement or affordability issues.
• Gather and escalate field insights related to payer policies, coverage challenges, prior authorization trends, site-of-care issues, coding/billing hurdles, specialty distribution dynamics, customer education requirements, and launch risks.
• Contribute to the operational model for the Oncology Field Reimbursement Manager role, including structure, workload balance, engagement cadence, performance metrics, and field capability growth.
• Ensure that activities adhere to AbbVie policies, applicable laws and regulations, compliance requirements, and approved materials and processes.
• Facilitate a swift onboarding process and integrate both current and new Field Reimbursement Managers into a unified team.
• Set execution expectations across consistent portfolio support, pre-launch preparedness, launch, and post-launch activities.
• Utilize field insights to guide portfolio planning, launch readiness, training, operational preparedness, customer support needs, and ongoing improvement.
• A bachelor's degree is required; a degree in health sciences, pharmacy, business, healthcare administration, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in field reimbursement, market access, managed care, payer support, patient services, oncology field support, specialty pharmacy/distribution, hub services, or a related healthcare role.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in leading, coaching, developing, or managing field-based teams is preferred.
• Experience in oncology and/or hematology-oncology is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with physician-administered therapies, buy-and-bill products, medical benefit reimbursement, specialty distribution/pharmacy, or complex access models is strongly preferred.
• Experience with product launches, indication expansions, territory buildouts, or organizational scaling is strongly preferred.
• Proven understanding of coverage, coding, billing, reimbursement, benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, claims submission, payer policy, affordability support, and patient support program operations.
• Capability to lead through uncertainty, build team competency, manage change, and achieve results in a matrixed, regulated environment.
• Strong skills in people leadership, coaching, talent development, and performance management.
• Competence to build and scale teams during periods of growth, change, portfolio expansion, or launch readiness.
• In-depth understanding of oncology access and reimbursement dynamics, including payer policy, coding, claims submission, prior authorization and appeals, product acquisition, specialty pharmacy/distribution, and white-bagging.
• Ability to translate portfolio and launch strategies into clear field execution priorities and actionable plans.
• Strong skills in business planning, account prioritization, analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, presentation, collaboration, and stakeholder management.
• Proficient in utilizing data, insights, and field feedback to monitor performance, identify gaps, and promote continuous improvement.
• High level of integrity, judgment, professionalism, emotional intelligence, and compliance orientation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across a complex oncology portfolio and travel extensively within the designated geography.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
