This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Oversee, mentor, develop, and lead a regional team of Oncology Field Reimbursement Managers.
β’ Assemble, recruit, and onboard a capable team with well-defined role expectations, territory preparation, development plans, and accountability measures.
β’ Establish expectations for field operations, customer interactions, account prioritization, business planning, performance management, and compliant usage of approved resources.
β’ Guide Field Reimbursement Managers through field visits, ride-alongs, team meetings, business assessments, and personalized development plans.
β’ Provide education for HCP office personnel and account stakeholders regarding coverage, coding, billing, reimbursement, benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, payer requirements, product acquisition, specialty pharmacy/distribution, and affordability support.
β’ Convert oncology portfolio strategies, franchise priorities, payer dynamics, patient support goals, and multiple myeloma launch readiness into actionable regional execution plans.
β’ Collaborate with Patient Services, Market Access, Sales, Brand, Training, Analytics, Operations, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, hub, and vendor teams.
β’ Define training, resources, workflows, dashboards, account education priorities, and feedback mechanisms for portfolio and launch readiness.
β’ Assess team activity, capacity, account coverage, quality, compliance, and performance utilizing analytics, reporting tools, field insights, and business evaluations.
β’ Engage with key oncology and hematology accounts to identify access obstacles and resolve intricate reimbursement or affordability issues.
β’ Gather and escalate field insights regarding payer policies, coverage challenges, prior authorization trends, site-of-care difficulties, coding/billing obstacles, specialty distribution dynamics, customer education needs, and launch risks.
β’ Contribute to the operating model for Oncology Field Reimbursement Managers and the development of field capabilities.
β’ Ensure compliance with AbbVie policies, legislation, regulations, compliance requirements, and approved materials and processes in all activities.
β’ Set execution expectations across ongoing portfolio support, pre-launch readiness, launch, and post-launch execution.
β’ A bachelor's degree is required; a degree in health sciences, pharmacy, business, healthcare administration, or a related field is preferred.
β’ At least 5 years of experience in field reimbursement, market access, managed care, payer support, patient services, oncology field support, specialty pharmacy/distribution, hub services, or a similar healthcare role.
β’ A minimum of 3 years of experience in leading, coaching, developing, or managing field-based teams is preferred.
β’ Experience in oncology and/or hematology-oncology is strongly preferred.
β’ Familiarity with physician-administered therapies, buy-and-bill products, medical benefit reimbursement, specialty distribution/pharmacy, or complex access models is strongly preferred.
β’ Experience in launching, indication expansion, territory development, or organizational scaling is strongly preferred.
β’ Knowledge of coverage, coding, billing, reimbursement, benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, claims submission, payer policy, affordability support, and patient support program operations is essential.
β’ Capability to lead amidst ambiguity, enhance team capabilities, manage change, and achieve results in a matrixed, regulated environment.
β’ Strong skills in people leadership, coaching, talent development, and performance management.
β’ Ability to develop and scale teams during growth, change, portfolio expansion, or launch readiness.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of oncology access and reimbursement dynamics, including payer policy, coding, claims submission, prior authorization and appeals, product acquisition, specialty pharmacy/distribution, and white-bagging.
β’ Skill in translating portfolio and launch strategies into clear field execution priorities and measurable action plans.
β’ Excellent business planning, account prioritization, analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
β’ Proficiency in utilizing data, insights, and field feedback to monitor performance, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement.
β’ High levels of integrity, judgment, professionalism, emotional intelligence, and compliance orientation.
β’ Capability to manage multiple priorities across a complex oncology portfolio and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned geography.
β’ Willingness and ability to travel 75% of the time.
