This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of instructional and digital designers.
• Define the enterprise learning solution strategy and architectural framework.
• Oversee the learning experience and content strategy for RTX University.
• Establish approaches for building, purchasing, curating, reusing, and retiring learning solutions.
• Act as a performance consultant and strategic advisor.
• Develop and uphold learning design governance, standards, accessibility requirements, quality assurance, and content lifecycle practices.
• Promote the responsible use of AI and new learning technologies.
• Enhance the capabilities and operational methods of the instructional design function.
• Foster collaborations across business units, HR, Talent, Learning, technology, communications, and other areas.
• Provide guidance to senior stakeholders regarding learning strategies, recommendations, trade-offs, and investments.
• Collaborate with Learning Operations and technology teams to integrate solutions across the LMS, RTX University, and the broader learning technology ecosystem.
• Utilize learner insights, adoption metrics, performance indicators, and business outcomes to assess and enhance solutions.
• Prioritize tasks and manage team and vendor resources across enterprise initiatives.
• Oversee external vendors, production partners, and associated budgets.
• Serve as an enterprise thought leader in learning experience design, learning architecture, and contemporary learning practices.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related area with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
• Proven experience in learning strategy, instructional design, learning experience design, digital learning, talent development, or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams focused on instructional design, learning experience design, or digital learning.
• Expertise in developing learning strategies, architectures, standards, and scalable solutions within a complex organization.
• Deep understanding of instructional design, adult learning principles, learning science, performance consulting, and modern learning technologies.
• Ability to identify business and performance needs and convert them into effective learning strategies and solutions.
• Experience in establishing learning design governance, including standards, accessibility, quality assurance, and content lifecycle practices.
• Capability to influence across organizational boundaries and achieve alignment without direct authority.
• Exceptional skills in executive communication, consultation, stakeholder management, and relationship building.
• Experience in utilizing data, learner insights, and performance measures to assess effectiveness and guide decisions.
• Ability to manage multiple complex priorities within a dynamic, matrixed environment.
• U.S. citizenship is required; only U.S. citizens are permitted to access information under this program/contract.
• Preferred: Experience in leading enterprise learning strategy or solution architecture within a large, complex, global organization.
• Preferred: Experience in developing or enhancing an enterprise learning hub, learning experience platform (LXP), or digital learning ecosystem.
• Preferred: Experience in establishing strategies for building, buying, curating, reusing, and retiring learning portfolios.
• Preferred: Experience in connecting learning solutions to broader talent strategies.
• Preferred: Experience in implementing AI-enabled learning practices and emerging technologies.
• Preferred: Experience in facilitating self-directed, skills-based, or personalized learning experiences.
• Preferred: Experience in influencing senior business and HR leaders.
• Familiarity with Workday Learning or similar enterprise learning platforms.
• Proven ability to lead cross-department project teams or manage across multiple related departments with extensive management and leadership knowledge.
