Associate Director – Journal Production

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee Journal production operations encompassing text proofreading, video pre-production, filming, and post-production, ensuring the delivery of approximately 3,600 text articles and 1,000 videos each year.

• Develop and uphold stringent text and video quality-control standards that emphasize scientific accuracy, consistency, presentation quality, and author satisfaction.

• Define explicit goals and KPIs for teams and individuals, while regularly assessing performance, productivity, quality, and turnaround times.

• Continuously enhance production workflows, pinpoint bottlenecks, and execute process improvements that boost efficiency and scalability without sacrificing quality.

• Advocate for the integration of AI, automation, and emerging production technologies to elevate productivity, consistency, and quality.

• Collaborate with Editorial, Product, Technology, and other cross-functional teams to ensure Journal production priorities are aligned with broader business and product objectives.

• Evaluate production quality and author feedback to detect recurring issues and identify opportunities to enhance the Journal production experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree; a degree in a scientific, technical, media, or a related field is preferred.

• Extensive experience in video and/or scientific content production, with a strong understanding of end-to-end production workflows.

• Over 5 years of management experience, including leading managers and cross-functional production teams.

• Proven expertise in setting goals and KPIs while managing team performance effectively.

• Demonstrated success in enhancing production throughput, efficiency, and scalability while upholding high-quality standards.

• Comprehensive knowledge of video production and quality control processes, including pre-production, filming, editing, and final delivery.

• Experience in implementing AI, automation, or workflow enhancements in content production is preferred.
