Associate Director, International Supply Chain Sourcing Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Create and present compelling recommendations to senior executives regarding international sourcing strategies and global footprint initiatives.

• Formulate and execute international sourcing strategies at both the country and supplier levels.

• Propel production speed and foster sustainable global growth.

• Guide, mentor, and develop a team of OSC professionals.

• Establish team objectives and operational rhythms.

• Enhance and standardize the processes for strategy development and implementation.

• Design and improve digital tools for operational efficiency.

• Lead cross-functional collaboration for co-production, secondary sourcing, and industrial participation projects.

• Facilitate alignment and decision-making in complex international contexts.

• Identify, evaluate, and prepare strategic international suppliers for onboarding.

• Conduct supplier evaluations, due diligence, and secure necessary approvals.

• Maintain the international supplier capability database, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

• Collaborate with Requirements & Capabilities, Global Industrialization, and SBUs on international opportunities and industrial participation needs.

• Assist with relevant Gate Reviews, particularly in Strategy and Submit/Commit phases.

• Work closely with internal stakeholders and international suppliers on strategies for international projects and industrial participation/offset initiatives.

• Evaluate proposed business solutions, including partner selection, project assessment, and financial analysis.

• Travel domestically and internationally approximately 5–25% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• A university degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 10 years of experience.

• At least 12 years of experience in Strategy, Supply Chain, Program Management, or Operations/Manufacturing.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Aerospace & Defense sector.

• Proven experience in developing and implementing functional, business, or portfolio strategies, including the preparation of business cases and ROI analyses.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• An active and existing DoD Secret security clearance is required from day one.

• Experience in supplier management, manufacturing, engineering, or program management roles, particularly in international contexts.

• Proven experience leading geographically distributed cross-functional teams.

• Familiarity with developing and presenting strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

• Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and U.S. government export/import regulations.

• Leadership experience in project and change management, driving initiatives from conception to execution and closure.

• Experience with Statements of Work (SOW) and MRP/ERP systems such as SAP (PRISM).

• Knowledge of offsets, localization, industrial participation, and proposal development.

• Relevant certifications such as PMX Level 6, PMP, CPSM, or CSCP are preferred.
