This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Oversee the integration of Global Trade within the digital framework across Pratt & Whitney and its international locations.

• Provide guidance on Global Trade necessities for Digital Technology and business transformation projects.

• Convert Global Trade needs into business and technology specifications, advocating for them with stakeholders.

• Evaluate technology and business projects for coherence with project priorities, compliance risks, Global Trade prerequisites, and business goals.

• Formulate recommendations and facilitate resolutions of issues.

• Direct the advancement of the Automated Export Control System (AECS) value stream.

• Specify future-state capabilities and enhance automation, data-driven controls, and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC).

• Establish the governance and engagement model for Global Trade technology initiatives.

• Guarantee that requirements are integrated into architecture, processes, systems of record, and controls.

• Evaluate and enhance the Global Trade control framework across digital tools and processes.

• Identify capability gaps, emerging risks, and opportunities for improving automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.

• Influence enterprise and corporate Global Trade initiatives.

• Offer strategic leadership and visibility throughout the portfolio.

• Highlight risks and dependencies, enabling senior leaders to make informed decisions.

• Cultivate relationships and lead through influence across Global Trade, Digital Technology, and business sectors.

• Eliminate obstacles, drive consensus, challenge existing norms, and identify avenues to enhance Global Trade compliance using technology, processes, and data.

• Report directly to the Director of Global Trade, DT/GT, and Automated Export Control Systems (AECS).


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience with over 12 years in Global Trade, export compliance, trade technology, or related fields; OR an advanced degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.

• Must qualify as a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or other protected individuals as defined in the posting.

• Proficient understanding of export control and sanctions regulations.

• Comprehensive knowledge of jurisdiction and classification, authorizations and licensing, tangible and intangible transfers, as well as sanctions and screening.

• Familiarity with enterprise platforms and technologies like SAP/SAP GTS, classification and licensing solutions, sanctions screening, identity and access management, data governance, or compliance automation technologies.

• Experience in designing or implementing automated Global Trade controls, export compliance systems, digital compliance capabilities, or Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC).

• Proficient in translating regulatory or compliance requirements into technology specifications, system controls, and scalable business processes.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to assess risk, business value, costs, and operational impact.

• Capability to effectively engage with senior executives and demanding stakeholders, constructively challenge decisions, and influence outcomes without direct authority.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience across various geographies, business units, and regulatory contexts is advantageous.

• Familiarity with automated trade compliance systems and digital technologies, including ERP/GTS platforms, classification solutions, screening platforms, data governance, and access-control solutions.

• Experience working in a highly regulated industry or complex global environment.

• Experience collaborating with or closely with a Digital Technology organization, including knowledge of enterprise architecture, application development, data, access controls, and technology delivery processes.

• Strong strategic and analytical mindset.

• Excellent leadership and influencing abilities in a matrixed global organization.

• Strong sense of ownership and urgency, with the ability to prioritize competing demands, escalate risks, and drive issues to resolution.

• Willingness to travel between company sites; approximately 10% travel required.
