This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Deliver in-person or virtual education on access and reimbursement topics to specified accounts within designated regions.
• Support the aligned product strategy and oversee the execution of access and reimbursement strategies along with downstream operations.
• Act as the lead on patient access and reimbursement during business-to-business discussions with account executives.
• Engage with large, complex accounts to facilitate patient access and educate providers and their staff on relevant programs.
• Respond to customer inquiries about product ordering, payments, inventory management, returns, and replacements.
• Manage Patient Identifiable Information while adhering to HIPAA, privacy regulations, and company policies.
• Identify and report adverse events using established Novartis systems.
• Assist with provider-level reimbursement challenges with third-party payers while analyzing account reimbursement matters.
• Recognize local, regional, and national trends to enhance patient access to Novartis medications.
• Relay coverage policy changes and related issues to internal teams.
• Educate customers about Novartis-sponsored patient support initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Patient Support Center and Access & Reimbursement Managers for patient case management and problem-solving.
• Work with cross-functional Novartis teams to convey customer requirements and access obstacles.
• Evaluate access circumstances within the assigned area and formulate Plans of Action.
• Train healthcare professionals on acquisition pathways and buy-and-bill procedures.
• Inform stakeholders about ordering, payment, inventory, returns, replacements, and alternative acquisition methods.
• Engage non-prescribers such as pharmacists, system leaders, financial counselors, office administrators, and revenue cycle managers.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is mandatory.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceuticals or biotech sectors, focusing on Patient Services, Market Access, Sales, and/or account management.
• At least 2 years of experience in a Patient Services support role for specialty products.
• Experience working with highly intricate practices and/or health systems to create access and acquisition pathways.
• Proven strategic account management experience, with a proactive approach to foresee access challenges.
• In-depth expertise in integrating manufacturer-sponsored patient support programs.
• Experience with specialty products accessed through Specialty Pharmacy networks.
• Familiarity with specialty pharmacy, buy-and-bill, and retail reimbursement channels.
• Strong knowledge of Commercial payers, Medicare plans, and state Medicaid within the geographical area.
• Must reside within the designated territory.
• Willingness to travel and cover the area; a minimum of 50% travel is required.
• A valid and unrestricted driver’s license is essential, as driving is a key aspect of the role.
• Capability to comply with customer credentialing guidelines for roles involving customer interaction.
• Ability to complete initial field-role training, including home study, in eight or fewer hours per day and forty or fewer hours per week.
