This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary Site Manager during the Site Manager’s off rotation.
• Create scopes of work for review and approval.
• Assist in developing and managing project schedules.
• Prepare estimates for self-performed work and aid in comprehensive project estimates.
• Serve as Site Manager for small projects valued under $5 million when appropriate.
• Oversee multiple divisions of work along with construction methods and means.
• Solicit pricing from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers; assist in bidder selection, negotiate final prices, and draft subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Prepare cost-to-complete estimates, monthly billing, status updates, and progress-tracking reports.
• Review and maintain current architectural, structural, shop, and other drawings on-site.
• Plan construction procedures, schedules, staffing, materials, equipment, and tools.
• Identify, assess, and select potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Estimate costs, draft changes and change orders, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion.
• Establish and uphold safety and quality standards.
• Assume the role of on-site safety lead when none is assigned; halt work, discipline team members, and remove individuals/subcontractors when necessary.
• Make immediate safety and quality decisions and resolve issues while considering financial implications.
• Procure tools and materials for timely delivery.
• Direct supervisors and subcontractors in construction planning, specifications, and phase coordination.
• Address workforce complaints and grievances.
• Review progress, materials, and cost reports, and adjust schedules as needed.
• Provide expert guidance for specific work divisions.
• Meet with clients and refer requested modifications to the Site Manager and Project Manager.
• Collaborate with city officials, OSHA, and inspectors to ensure compliance with project inspection and documentation requirements.
• Communicate, implement, and enforce Gray’s safety program on-site.
• Train and manage subordinate team members; plan, assign, direct, reward, and discipline their work.
• Indirectly oversee subcontractors, consultants, and general laborers.
• An Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, along with a minimum of three years of construction experience, or at least five years of related construction experience with increasing responsibilities in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in the light/heavy industrial sector is highly desirable, particularly within the food and beverage market.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
• Strong people management capabilities.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, tablets, and smartphones.
• Familiarity with MS Project and other scheduling software is a plus.
• A strong work ethic; energetic, self-motivated, and a team player.
• Ability to think independently and manage tasks without supervision.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across the United States and, in certain cases, internationally.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and engage in verbal communication or hear.
• Capability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs.
• Accurate near and far vision.
• Ability to work in wet/humid environments, around moving mechanical parts, outdoors, at heights, near fumes/airborne particles, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, explosives, vibrations, and moderate to loud noise levels.
