This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +2 more states.
• Serve as the primary Site Manager during the absence of the Site Manager.
• Create scopes of work for evaluation and approval.
• Assist in the development and management of project timelines.
• Prepare estimates for self-performed tasks and support comprehensive project estimates.
• Act as Site Manager for smaller projects valued under $5 million when necessary.
• Oversee multiple divisions of work and all construction methods and practices.
• Solicit pricing from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers; aid in bidder selection, negotiate final costs, and draft subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Generate cost-to-complete reports, monthly billing, status updates, and progress-tracking documents.
• Examine and maintain up-to-date shop, architectural, structural, and other drawings on-site.
• Plan construction procedures considering schedules, completion timelines, and staffing needs.
• Identify, assess, and choose subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers associated with the General Conditions budget.
• Price work, draft modifications and change orders, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate and oversee on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion.
• Schedule subcontractor tasks; assess required materials, equipment, and tools; secure supply sources; set up and finalize construction sites.
• Establish and uphold safety and quality standards.
• Serve as the on-site safety leader when no safety representative is present; halt work, discipline team members, and remove individuals or subcontractors as necessary.
• Make immediate safety and quality decisions and address issues while considering financial implications.
• Procure tools and materials for delivery in accordance with work schedules.
• Direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors in construction planning, specifications, and coordination.
• Address workforce complaints and grievances.
• Review progress, materials, and cost reports, and modify work schedules accordingly.
• Provide expert guidance for assigned work divisions.
• Meet with clients and refer requested modifications to the Site Manager and Project Manager.
• Coordinate with city officials, OSHA, and inspectors; ensure necessary inspections and documentation are completed.
• Communicate, implement, and enforce Gray's safety program on-site.
• Manage multiple subordinate team members, including training, work assignments, performance management, complaints, and issue resolution.
• Indirectly oversee subcontractors, consultants, and general laborers.
• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, along with a minimum of three years of construction experience, or at least five years of related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in the light/heavy industrial sector is highly preferred, particularly within the food and beverage industry.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
• Strong people management capabilities.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, tablets, and smartphones.
• Familiarity with MS Project and other scheduling software is a plus.
• Strong work ethic; energetic, self-motivated, collaborative, and committed to professional growth.
• Ability to think independently and manage tasks without direct supervision.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across the United States and, occasionally, internationally.
• Capacity to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and communicate through talking or hearing.
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Capability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally handle up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to work in wet/humid environments, around moving mechanical parts, outdoors, at heights, near fumes or airborne particles, in extreme temperatures, and in the presence of electrical hazards, explosives, and vibrations.
