This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +7 more states.
• Serve as the primary Site Manager during the absence of the Site Manager.
• Aid in formulating scopes of work for evaluation and endorsement.
• Support the development and management of project schedules.
• Create estimates for self-performed tasks and assist in comprehensive project estimates.
• Act as Site Manager for small-scale projects valued under $5 million, when applicable.
• Oversee multiple work divisions, construction methods, and means.
• Gather pricing from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers; assist with bidder selection, price negotiations, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
• Generate cost-to-complete, monthly billing, status, and progress-tracking reports.
• Review and maintain up-to-date architectural, structural, shop, and other relevant drawings.
• Analyze specifications and plan construction procedures, schedules, staffing, materials, equipment, and tools.
• Coordinate and oversee on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion.
• Schedule subcontractor tasks and secure supply sources.
• Set up and finalize construction sites.
• Establish and uphold safety and quality standards.
• Act as the on-site safety lead in the absence of a designated safety representative; halt work, discipline team members, and remove individuals when necessary.
• Make immediate safety and quality decisions and resolve issues while considering financial implications.
• Acquire tools and materials for scheduled delivery.
• Guide supervisors and subcontractors in construction planning and execution.
• Address workforce complaints and grievances.
• Review progress, material usage, and cost reports, adjusting schedules accordingly.
• Provide expert guidance for assigned work divisions.
• Meet with clients and refer requested changes to the Site Manager and Project Manager.
• Collaborate with city officials, OSHA, and inspectors.
• Ensure that required inspections and documentation are completed.
• Communicate, implement, and enforce Gray’s on-site safety program.
• Manage subordinate team members, including training, work assignments, performance evaluations, discipline, complaint resolution, and problem-solving.
• Indirectly oversee subcontractors, consultants, and general laborers.
• An Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and a minimum of three years of construction experience, or at least five years of relevant construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in the light/heavy industrial sector is highly preferred, particularly within the food and beverage industry.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
• Strong skills in people management.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, tablets, and smartphones.
• Familiarity with MS Project and other scheduling software is a plus.
• A strong work ethic; energetic, self-motivated, team-oriented, collaborative, and dedicated to professional growth.
• Ability to think independently and manage tasks without direction.
• Willingness and ability to travel to project sites across the United States and, occasionally, outside the U.S.
• Capability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and, on occasion, lift or move up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to work in wet/humid conditions, near moving mechanical parts, outdoors, at heights, around fumes/airborne particles, in extreme temperatures, with electrical hazards, explosives, vibrations, and moderate to loud noise.
