This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee the consolidation, examination, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial outcomes for the Electrical Group.
• Guarantee the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial reports provided by business units.
• Supervise month-end closing activities and reporting deadlines across operating companies.
• Analyze significant fluctuations in balance sheets and income statements, resolving issues in collaboration with business unit controllers.
• Prepare or assess consolidation entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and group-level accounting tasks.
• Collaborate with Marmon Corporate Accounting on reporting, consolidation, and accounting issues.
• Act as a subject matter expert for OneStream and related financial reporting systems.
• Encourage adherence to U.S. GAAP, Marmon policies, SPIs, and internal control standards.
• Assist in the design, evaluation, testing, and compliance activities related to internal controls and SOX.
• Track audit findings and remediation efforts.
• Investigate and document accounting conclusions for non-standard transactions, acquisitions, restructurings, and technical accounting issues.
• Coordinate the implementation of new accounting standards and corporate reporting obligations.
• Aid in financial statement certification and governance activities.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes.
• Evaluate business performance, profitability, working capital trends, and key financial metrics.
• Create executive reports, dashboards, presentations, financial analyses, and Quarterly Business Reviews.
• Generate insights and recommendations for informed business decision-making.
• Collaborate with controllers and finance leaders to enhance financial performance, reporting quality, and process consistency.
• Review capital expenditure proposals and oversee post-audit evaluations of major investments.
• Support cross-functional initiatives through financial analysis and business insights.
• Advocate for the sharing of financial best practices.
• Engage in acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition integration activities.
• Lead or assist in finance transformation, automation, standardization, and process improvement projects.
• Identify opportunities to enhance reporting efficiency, control effectiveness, and data quality.
• Aid in special projects and strategic initiatives.
• Build rapport with controllers and finance teams throughout the Group.
• Mentor emerging finance talent and demonstrate readiness for advancement to a Company Controller position.
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA is highly preferred.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit, controllership, or finance leadership roles.
• Strong comprehension of U.S. GAAP, financial statements, consolidations, and internal controls.
• Experience in a multi-entity manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
• Proven analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
• Exceptional communication and business partnership skills with the capacity to influence at all organizational levels.
• Familiarity with consolidation and financial reporting systems, including OneStream, is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and a desire to advance to a Controller role.
• Approximately 30% travel is required.
