This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Provide support during short-term, surge, and on-demand scenarios arising from military requirements.

• Offer personal financial counseling and management services to military personnel and their families at military bases.

• Conduct individualized counseling sessions and consultations with commanders, providers, staff, and other stakeholders.

• Facilitate briefings, presentations, classes, seminars, and workshops focused on personal financial management.

• Supply referral resources outside of counseling sessions.

• Assist service members in creating spending plans for extended absences.

• Develop and distribute informational materials related to financial management.

• Organize and promote Personal Financial Management classes and workshops throughout the military lifecycle.

• Provide age-appropriate classes or seminars upon request.

• Utilize virtual counseling and secure electronic communication methods when permitted.

• Manage duty-to-warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense guidelines.

• Engage with leadership and participate in both individual and group supervision.

• Share insights on trends and issues impacting assigned installations.

• Participate in in-services, training sessions, quality improvement committees, and other contractual activities.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree is required.

• An associate degree along with 4 years of experience may be accepted in place of a bachelor's degree.

• A high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may also be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial counseling is necessary.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Proficiency in English is required.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is necessary if specified by the contract.

• Capability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.

• Must successfully complete the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.

• Required to hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

• A valid in-state driver's license is mandatory.
