This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.
β’ Respond to calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.
β’ Always be prepared to take notes during calls.
β’ Familiarize yourself with the specific terminology relevant to the industry in which the interpreter operates (particularly healthcare and medical).
β’ Accurately and completely convey all messages, without adding, omitting, or altering any content.
β’ Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpreting sessions.
β’ Facilitate communication between individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and the Client by providing precise and thorough interpretation of messages.
β’ Implement established standards of practice.
β’ Participate in internal professional training.
β’ Demonstrate a willingness to pursue new professional certifications.
β’ Communicate and provide reports to your team leader.
β’ Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.
β’ Proficient in both ASL and English.
β’ Over 1 year of experience in ASL VRS with a reputable interpretation company.
β’ Strong understanding of medical terminology.
β’ Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.
β’ International certifications in the healthcare sector are beneficial (e.g., HIPAA, etc.).
β’ ASL Language Certificate, RID, BEI is mandatory.
β’ High school diploma in your native language.
β’ High emotional intelligence and sensitivity to diverse cultures.
β’ Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
β’ A solid comprehension of Deaf culture.
β’ Fully remote position with a defined schedule.
