This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as the primary advocate and strategic leader for the designated region
• Establish the direction for AbbVie’s market access goals
• Supervise regional initiatives and serve as the main liaison for high-priority customers
• Create and execute local market access strategies and influence maps
• Recognize key access customers, emerging channels, and market participants
• Collaborate with the Area Access Director on direct Area customer contracts and ensure contract execution
• Sustain customer relationships and handle day-to-day interactions
• Identify and address customer concerns, communicating important updates or escalations
• Work with internal cross-functional teams to tackle challenges and enhance customer experiences
• Identify regional growth prospects and suggest initiatives to broaden access and strengthen customer ties
• Track industry trends and competitor activities
• Monitor and report on essential performance metrics
• Utilize data analytics, including MABI, to evaluate contract effectiveness and improve performance
• Travel to customer sites within the region
• Make 3–4 trips to AbbVie’s Chicago headquarters
• Role requires prolonged sitting for over 2 consecutive hours within an 8-hour workday
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related discipline
• Over 5 years of sales management experience; District Manager or Regional Manager experience is preferred
• Experience in account management and/or marketing within the healthcare sector or a related field
• More than 2 years of account management experience in a Group Practice/Payor/Institutional setting is highly desirable
• Demonstrated success in operating effectively across a large, complex geography and influencing various stakeholders
• Proven skills in contract negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and achieving commercial outcomes
• Capability to lead cross-functional teams within a matrixed organization
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving criteria
• Driving a personal vehicle, company vehicle, or powered material-handling equipment is necessary
