This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with architects, designers, developers, national accounts, and commercial contractors to enhance the specifications and sales opportunities for MAPEI products.
• Oversee specification opportunities throughout the entire project lifecycle, from pre-design and design phases to bidding, construction, and project closeout.
• Assess project scope and identify product opportunities, engage in face-to-face meetings, prepare MAPEI-specific specifications, and monitor projects through review and bidding stages.
• Provide continuing education programs and technical product presentations to the architecture and design community.
• Collaborate with MAPEI sales representatives and distributor partners to target major commercial projects and coordinate customer engagement.
• Sustain and grow existing national accounts while seeking and developing new account opportunities.
• Keep track of market activities, competitive trends, building practices, and emerging products to bolster sales and business development strategies.
• Ensure accurate project, account, and specification documentation and maintain up-to-date customer materials.
• Represent MAPEI at trade shows, industry events, and professional association activities.
• Adhere to BMS and EHS policy and process requirements, including pollution prevention, waste reduction, continuous improvement, and compliance with applicable environmental and safety regulations.
• Execute additional duties as necessary.
• A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
• A Bachelor’s degree in architecture, design, construction management, business, or a related field is preferred.
• At least five years of experience working with architects, designers, specifications, or commercial construction projects; equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.
• Familiarity with specification development, building codes, construction materials, and the phases of commercial design and construction.
• Capability to interpret project requirements and create clear, precise technical specifications and related documentation.
• Strong skills in sales, presentation, relationship-building, negotiation, and both written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, organize priorities, and see opportunities through to completion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the capacity to travel up to 50%.
• Preferred certifications include CSI, CDT, LEED AP, CTR, or similar industry credentials, or a willingness to pursue relevant certifications.
• Preferred active involvement in CSI, AIA, or another pertinent industry organization.
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred in specific markets.
