Application Engineer – Personal Safety Division

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.

📋 Description

• Propel growth by engaging with customers, developing new applications, and commercializing new products.

• Create compelling value propositions to ensure successful market entry.

• Organize and supervise customer field trials while assessing local competition and marketing strategies.

• Utilize e-tools to develop and replicate product/market applications.

• Offer customer-facing technical and application engineering support for the Personal Safety Division portfolio in New Zealand.

• Conduct visits to customers, perform workplace assessments, evaluate applications, demonstrate products, run field trials, and assess performance.

• Provide recommendations on product selection, application, and technical solutions.

• Address technical issues and assist in product implementation.

• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to identify strategic customer opportunities, manage major account transitions, set specifications, and develop channel partnerships.

• Gather customer insights, market intelligence, and feedback on unmet needs and applications.

• Assist in product evaluations, validations, new product introductions (NPI), commercialization processes, product transitions, modifications, and launch preparations.

• Facilitate training sessions, seminars, and workshops for customers, distributors, and internal sales teams.

• Aid in investigating technical complaints, conducting root-cause analyses, implementing corrective actions, and communicating with customers.

• Support product certification, compliance processes, and adherence to applicable standards and requirements.

• Collaborate with teams across Sales, Marketing, Portfolio Management, R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, and Asia Application Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related technical field.

• Relevant experience in Application Engineering, Technical Service, Industrial Safety, PPE, or a related technical area.

• Background in customer-facing technical roles and collaboration with distributors or channel partners.

• Familiarity with product evaluations, NPI processes, technical training, and complaint resolution.

• Knowledge of applicable PPE standards and regulatory requirements is advantageous.

• Strong capabilities in application engineering and technical problem-solving.

• A customer-focused mindset with excellent communication and presentation abilities.

• Competence in identifying workplace hazards and recommending suitable technical solutions.

• Comprehensive understanding of PPE and Personal Safety applications.

• Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Quality, and Regulatory teams.

• Strong organizational and project management skills.

• Capability to work independently across a diverse geographical customer base.
