📋 Description

• Collaborate with Product and GTM teams prior to contract signing to evaluate customer hardware environments and develop proof-of-concept integration layers.

• Design and create hardware integration layers to connect Karman with customer infrastructure.

• Analyze Utilidata and customer hardware designs to pinpoint integration opportunities and shortcomings.

• Develop and adapt embedded firmware for customer platforms.

• Take ownership of the complete technical execution of customer hardware integrations from project initiation to deployment.

• Lead technical discussions with customers, conduct on-site visits, and facilitate requirements reviews.

• Generate and sustain documentation for hardware design, validation, installation, releases, KPIs, and after-action reports.

• Create hardware design materials that encompass layout, schematics, power, I/O, signal integrity, thermal management, and RFI specifications.

• Produce documentation for SOM and metrology bring-up along with design reviews.

• Monitor hardware KPIs and risks, coordinating solutions across engineering teams.

• Streamline processes and create integration and deployment artifacts utilizing an AI-first approach.

• Engage in roadmap meetings, sprint planning sessions, and hardware design evaluations.

• Convert insights from field deployments into product enhancements.

• Establish repeatable processes, templates, and best practices for the Application Engineering team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of practical experience in hardware and embedded firmware engineering.

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent training and experience.

• Capability to independently design, implement, and validate hardware solutions from concept through to production.

• Experience in designing hardware integration points, including PCB-level design, interface definitions, and system bring-up.

• FPGA development experience encompassing hardware design/RTL and firmware.

• Proficient in writing, modifying, and debugging embedded firmware without assistance.

• Familiarity with embedded systems and data-center interfaces and protocols, such as I2C, UART, PCIe, and Ethernet.

• Ability to read and critically assess schematics, PCB layouts, and test results.

• Skilled in producing organized engineering documentation, design review checklists, test plans, validation procedures, and deployment manuals.

• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• High adaptability in dynamic, early-stage product settings.

• Experience with data-center infrastructure, power electronics, or energy management hardware.

• Willingness to travel for customer kick-offs, on-site evaluations, and deployment validation.

• Familiarity with System-on-Module platforms or metrology hardware is a plus.

• Knowledge of power quality, thermal management, or power sequencing is advantageous.

• Experience with embedded Linux, BSP bring-up, or Yocto-based OS customization is beneficial.

• Familiarity with ZeroMQ, Protobuf, gRPC, or REST APIs is a bonus.

• Previous customer-facing technical experience is a plus.
