This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Convert intricate customer inquiries into detailed technical proposals, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Collaborate with Sales and Commercial teams to enhance RFQ processes and ensure technical viability while adhering to GE Vernova standards.
• Evaluate site-specific requirements and historical data to propose service solutions, upgrades, or modernization strategies.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Sourcing, and Project Management to confirm cost estimates, lead times, and resource availability.
• Perform initial technical risk assessments.
• Maintain and improve the technical library, costing models, and configuration tools utilized during proposal creation.
• Identify, assess, and develop strategic spare parts in SAP for project supply.
• Assist Installation & Construction services within the EPC project portfolio.
• Align customer requirements with GE Vernova technical standards throughout the Inquiry-to-Order process.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or a related discipline).
• 3–5+ years of experience in Application Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Field Service operations.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% depending on business needs.
• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, single-line diagrams, data sheets, and performance specifications for high-voltage assets.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Proven experience in substation construction and engineering.
• Solid understanding of Electrical Balance of Plant equipment, including power transformers, circuit breakers, disconnects, and P&C systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Power Generation/Services industry along with ITO/OTR workflows.
• Expertise in large-scale substation proposal development, full-turnkey EPC/EPCI solutions, and civil works.
• Experience in estimating engineering design packages and applying cost engineering principles.
• Familiarity with HV/EHV substation physical design, foundation design, and site preparation.
• Background in construction, field testing, and commissioning.
• Technical proficiency in T&D equipment, electrical substations, and protection devices.
• Proficient in SAP for strategic spare-parts creation and project supply.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
