Appian Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and implement Appian applications, including process models, interfaces, records, sites, integrations, and expression rules.

• Develop and manage Appian Connected Systems and Integration Objects for seamless system-to-system data transfer.

• Create reusable components, data types, and expression rules across various delivery teams.

• Work closely with Appian Configuration Analysts, business analysts, and subject matter experts to convert business requirements into technical solutions.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily standups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.

• Perform unit testing and code reviews; assist with integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and issue resolution.

• Enhance application performance through effective query design, caching strategies, and adherence to Appian best practices.

• Generate and update technical documentation, including design specifications, API documentation, and deployment procedures.

• Assist with application packaging, environment promotion, and release validation.

• Guide junior developers on Appian development best practices, design patterns, and knowledge of the Federal acquisition domain.

• Contribute to CACI's Department of Veterans Affairs modernization program, benefiting over 26,000 users.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a US citizen and able to pass a Tier 2 background investigation.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field; 3+ additional years of relevant IT experience may substitute for a degree.

• 3–7 years of software development experience.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in Appian development or with low-code platforms.

• Proficient in developing applications using low-code/no-code platforms or business process management tools.

• Strong grasp of the software development lifecycle, object-oriented programming principles, and database design.

• Skilled in web services, APIs, or system integration development.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on code quality and maintainability.

• Appian Certified Associate Developer or Appian Certified Senior Developer certification is preferred.

• Practical experience in developing Appian applications is a plus.

• Background in supporting Federal government system modernization initiatives is desirable.

• Familiarity with the Federal acquisition lifecycle, contracting processes, or FAR/VAAR regulations is an advantage.

• Advanced skills in SQL are preferred.

• Previous experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and sprint-based delivery is beneficial.

• Programming experience with Java, JavaScript, or Python is desirable.

• Knowledge of Azure cloud environments, SaaS application development, or containerization is a plus.

• Experience with RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, or enterprise integration patterns is advantageous.

• Understanding of DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing is desired.

• Background in user experience design or Section 508 accessibility standards is a plus.

• Experience with data migration, ETL processes, or data transformation logic is desirable.
