Android User Researcher, Diary Study

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Engage in a compensated 30-day diary study focused on setting up and using a new Android smartphone.

• Acquire and configure either a Google Pixel 11 or Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8.

• Transfer your SIM card and utilize the new device as your primary phone for approximately one month.

• Complete nine diary entries between 28 September and 30 October 2026, each taking about 15–20 minutes.

• Submit diary entries in written format, along with photos, audio, or video recordings.

• Install an application that provides device identifiers.

• Ensure that “Usage & Diagnostics” remains activated throughout the duration of the study.

• Participate in one 60-minute remote interview via Zoom between 9 and 13 November 2026.

• Offer insights on unboxing, data migration, setup instructions, and feature exploration to enhance mobile operating system design.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a general consumer residing in Germany.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Should be actively considering the purchase of a new smartphone.

• Must be the primary decision-maker for your own phone acquisition.

• No technical expertise is necessary; we are specifically looking for individuals who are not technically inclined.

• Should be comfortable documenting daily mobile usage and initial impressions.

• Willing to pay for the phone upfront and receive reimbursement in two installments.

• Available for the entire study duration from late September to mid-November 2026.

• Must purchase either a Google Pixel 11 or Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 between 28 September and 4 October 2026 at a Telekom, Vodafone, or O2 store in Germany.

• Must transfer the SIM card to the new device and use it as the primary phone for the study.

• Must install an app that provides device identifiers.

• Must keep “Usage & Diagnostics” enabled throughout the study.

• Cannot be employed in UX, market research, or the technology sector.

• Cannot be an employee of a major technology firm.

• Cannot have participated in any market research studies or focus groups within the last few months.
