This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +3 more countries.
• Take ownership of the comprehensive data roadmap for product, marketing, operations, and finance across the organization.
• Prioritize the health of the platform and the needs of stakeholders, while presenting and defending the roadmap, and adjusting plans as the business evolves.
• Develop automated monitoring systems for source data, pipelines, and reports.
• Identify upstream schema and source changes ahead of downstream disruptions and manage incidents to resolution.
• Maintain data lineage and conduct impact analysis from production sources through warehouse models to dashboards.
• Create data contracts and incorporate impact assessments into engineering change reviews.
• Oversee Lightdash administration, including workspace structure, permissions, certification, naming conventions, rollout strategies, enablement, query performance, and warehouse costs.
• Extend and govern the semantic layer to ensure a single controlled definition for each metric.
• Manage Segment event tracking, including event reviews, catalog maintenance, naming conventions, property dictionaries, lifecycle management, and drift detection.
• Govern access to AI data and ensure the warehouse remains documented, consistent, secure, and AI-readable.
• Supervise data security and privacy measures, including access controls, PII management, retention policies, and periodic access reviews.
• Develop documentation, ownership models, and review processes that promote sustainable governance.
• Begin as an individual contributor and later recruit and lead a Lead Analytics Engineer.
• Experience in governance-focused data systems.
• Daily utilization of AI tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, and ChatGPT for quality assessments, automation, anomaly triage, and documentation purposes.
• Proven experience as a hands-on manager responsible for the output, priorities, and time management of team members.
• Proficient in SQL, Airflow DAG debugging, and permissions configuration.
• A product-oriented mindset to convert stakeholder requirements into prioritized action plans.
• An automation-first perspective for regular checks and processes.
• Capability to enforce standards among engineers and analysts.
• In-depth hands-on experience with warehouse and pipeline layers.
• Credible experience in maintaining a BI tool and tracking plans at scale within a company.
• Familiarity with tools such as Redshift, dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Segment, Lightdash, Tableau, Metabase, or similar platforms.
• Base salary: $75k–$120k/year.
