Analytics Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop forecasts, recommendations, and strategic or tactical plans utilizing business data and market insights.

• Generate specifications for reports and analyses tailored to business requirements and the available data elements.

• Offer consultation to users and guide cross-functional teams in resolving business challenges.

• Create datasets and reports through system reporting tools.

• Conduct research and analyze financial and health data, including medical algorithms, healthcare spending, medical and economic outcomes, and cost-containment strategies.

• Examine intricate business issues using both internal and external data to deliver insights to decision-makers.

• Recognize and interpret trends and patterns within datasets.

• Provide analytic support and consultancy for HCSC’s largest Commercial clients and internal senior leadership.

• Assist clinical and business stakeholders while offering advisory services to internal senior leaders.

• Utilize SQL, R, Python, Tableau, and healthcare industry expertise in both client-facing and internal engagements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience in healthcare services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics, or a related field; OR a Master’s degree in a related field; OR 6 years of experience in healthcare services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics, or a related field.

• Strong understanding and proficiency in querying a diverse array of internal and external data sources to extract meaningful insights.

• Expertise in SQL, R, and Python.

• Capability to create dynamic and visually compelling dashboards using Tableau or Power BI.

• High level of business intelligence with the ability to navigate a business case from conception to execution with customers or partners.

• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities.

• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Experience in advocating for initiatives and collaborating with various stakeholders.

• Preferred: Familiarity with project management methodologies.

• Preferred: Experience in the healthcare industry, including payor, provider, pharmacy, public health, or epidemiology.

• Preferred: Knowledge of version control/collaborative tools such as GitHub.

• Preferred: Experience with automation tools like Alteryx.
