This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Design, develop, enhance, test, and support applications based on Delphi utilized in healthcare payer operations.
• Provide support for the functionality of the AMISYS application, including integrations, data flows, and troubleshooting across claims and related payer business processes.
• Collaborate with business users, health plan operations teams, and IT stakeholders to collect requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
• Evaluate claims processing challenges, system defects, production issues, and data inconsistencies; identify root causes and create effective solutions.
• Create and implement unit testing, assist with system and user acceptance testing, and support the validation of claims-related functionalities.
• Write, analyze, and debug SQL queries, stored procedures, and data extracts.
• Document technical designs, code modifications, issue resolutions, and operational procedures.
• Work alongside cross-functional teams on implementations, upgrades, enhancements, conversions, interfaces, and production support.
• Report on project status, risks, dependencies, and technical insights to stakeholders.
• Utilize knowledge of healthcare payers, claims, and health plans to deliver scalable and compliant technology solutions.
• Practical experience in Delphi development.
• Familiarity with AMISYS or other core administration platforms used in healthcare payers.
• Solid understanding of claims processing workflows, including adjudication, claims edits, payment logic, provider data, and member eligibility.
• Experience in supporting health plan business functions and collaborating with claims, operations, configuration, customer service, enrollment, or provider teams.
• Proficient in SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or similar platforms.
• Capability to analyze complex production issues, troubleshoot application defects, and develop sustainable technical solutions.
• Experience with application development life cycle activities, including requirements analysis, technical design, coding, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
• Preferably familiar with healthcare data exchanges, payer interfaces, EDI transactions, or claims-related integrations.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Self-motivated working style, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle competing priorities.
• Consulting or client-facing experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be acceptable.
• 3–5 years of direct Delphi development experience.
• 3–5 years of working experience with AMISYS or another healthcare payer core administration platform.
• 3–5 years of experience in supporting claims-related functionalities within a healthcare payer, managed care organization, or health plan environment.
• 3–5 years of experience with claims processing workflows.
• 3–5 years of SQL experience.
• Experience in supporting application development life cycle activities.
• Familiarity with payer interfaces, data exchanges, EDI transactions, or claims-related integrations is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or mathematics OR an associate’s degree specifically in computer science.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
