AIX Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Design, administer, and optimize environments for IBM Power Systems.

• Develop and implement architectures for PowerVM virtualization.

• Configure and manage: Micro-partitioning (LPARs), Virtual I/O Server (VIOS), Active Memory Expansion (AME), Shared Processor Pools, and NPIV (N_Port ID Virtualization).

• Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning for AIX.

• Monitor and analyze system performance utilizing tools such as: nmon, nmon Analyzer, lparstat, lpar2rrd, and other equivalent performance monitoring tools.

• Deploy and manage security solutions and hardening initiatives with IBM PowerSC.

• Provide support for infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and deployment projects.

• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

• Offer knowledge transfer and technical guidance to internal engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in administering IBM Power Systems and AIX environments.

• Strong hands-on expertise with: IBM Power Systems, AIX Administration, PowerVM, VIOS, NPIV, Performance Tuning, and Capacity Planning.

• Experience in deploying and managing IBM PowerSC.

• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

• Proficiency in French.

• Outstanding communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate within distributed engineering teams.
