This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the technical lead for the AI/ML strategy, architecture, and implementation throughout the program.
• Design and implement scalable AI/ML models that support the mission of CMS.
• Direct predictive analytics, automation frameworks, and intelligent decision-support systems.
• Incorporate AI solutions into secure enterprise and tactical settings.
• Ensure adherence to CMS cybersecurity and data governance standards.
• Supervise data engineering pipelines and oversee model lifecycle management (MLOps).
• Establish and uphold practices for model validation, explainability, and bias mitigation.
• Provide guidance to program leadership and stakeholders regarding emerging AI technologies and their applications in missions.
• Transition experimental or prototype AI capabilities into fully operational production systems.
• Embed security, ethical considerations, and data governance requirements within AI development workflows.
• Evaluate AI security threats and generate ATO, configuration management, and incident response documentation.
• Collaborate with ISSOs, business owners, and stakeholders on secure AI solutions, audits, interviews, and governance reviews.
• Lead security governance processes to ensure continuous compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and offer technical leadership across cross-functional teams.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field is required; a Master's or PhD is preferred.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in AI/ML, data science, software engineering, or related advanced analytics fields.
• Practical experience in developing AI/ML solutions.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML solutions within production environments.
• Proficient in Python, R, and/or Java.
• In-depth knowledge of TensorFlow or PyTorch, ideally implemented within AWS SageMaker.
• Experience in integrating AI/ML capabilities into secure enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity, data governance, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in developing AI products or prototypes utilizing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic AI technologies.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud; AWS is preferred.
• Familiarity with AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry, or Google Vertex AI.
• Experience implementing AI solutions in secure, restricted, or regulated settings.
• Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Must have resided in the United States for at least three of the last five years.
• No work visa sponsorship is provided.
• Experience with Agentforce implementation is preferred.
• Experience in supporting enterprise-scale Salesforce Solutions is preferred.
• Knowledge of AI governance and modernization initiatives is preferred.
• Experience in supporting U.S. Federal Agencies, particularly CMS, is preferred.
• Familiarity with AWS GovCloud or Azure Government is preferred.
• Understanding of Zero Trust architectures is preferred.
