AI Tutor – Hausa

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Utilize proprietary software to create labels, annotations, recordings, and inputs for multilingual audio clips, voice recordings, speech samples, and auditory components.

• Translate and localize user interface copy, prompts, responses, and other written materials from English to Hausa.

• Curate high-quality audio data that reflects linguistic and prosodic characteristics, including intonation, rhythm, and accent.

• Collaborate with technical teams to enhance speech modulation, accent variation, handling of noisy real-world recordings, and processing of multilingual audio.

• Enhance annotation tools to facilitate more efficient audio workflows.

• Train and refine Grok’s voice interactions, speech recognition, and multilingual auditory experiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native proficiency in Hausa, with familiarity with various accents, dialects, or regional differences.

• Proficiency in English at a minimum B2 level.

• Clear and natural vocal delivery with appropriate pronunciation for audio recording.

• Strong auditory skills to perceive speech nuances, accents, pronunciation, intonation, and audio quality.

• Capability to evaluate multilingual audio content, cultural vocal expressions, and context interpretation.

• Ability to accurately transcribe audio across diverse accents and audio quality levels.

• Proficiency in translating and localizing text accurately between English and Hausa.

• Comfort in providing high-quality voice recordings and feedback on audio samples in various languages.

• Ability to make independent judgments on ambiguous, noisy, or accented audio material.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, detail-oriented, and organizational abilities.

• Dedication to developing advanced multilingual audio capabilities.

• Personal devices, if used, must be a Chromebook, Mac with macOS 11.0 or later, or Windows 10 or later.

• Visa sponsorship is not available.

• Preferred: background in linguistics, speech sciences, cognitive science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Preferred: experience with speech/audio datasets, annotation workflows, AI training data, voice models, and translation/localization workflows or professional voice work.
