AI Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Transform prioritized product vision into functional software.

• Manage the backlog, sprint, release, and overall health of Applied AI products.

• Convert strategic objectives into actionable work plans and user stories.

• Gather implementation requirements from engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders.

• Facilitate scrum ceremonies and ensure team alignment.

• Guide the team through PI planning by defining work packages and establishing sequences.

• Set interim sprint goals and ensure thorough completion.

• Oversee release coordination and communication efforts.

• Monitor production system health in relation to uptime expectations.

• Assist with testing and coordinate with related teams during each sprint.

• Utilize AI tools from requirements gathering to story creation and test coverage.

• Convey intent through coded prototypes or pull requests when appropriate.

• Collaborate with the AI Product Manager on product execution.

• Support the development of responsible and ethical AI solutions that enhance business processes and customer experiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is mandatory.

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in technology and business analysis.

• Experience in collaborative, team-oriented roles is essential.

• Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies, including hands-on management of a backlog, sprint cadence, and release processes.

• Preferred understanding of high-level requirements for cloud-based software applications.

• Familiarity with traditional AI/ML modeling techniques and generative AI systems is preferred.

• Demonstrated success in delivering technical products that integrate AI methods and tools such as ML, DL, optimization, RPA, OCR, generative AI, and classification is highly preferred.

• Experience in enterprise-level AI development is preferred.

• Technical fluency to read pull requests, create prototypes, and engage in design discussions with engineers is preferred.

• Background in supporting production software, including incident response and uptime monitoring, is preferred.

• Experience in underwriting or claims is preferred.

• Background in the financial or insurance industry is preferred.

• Ability to convey technical, data science, and business perspectives to non-technical audiences.

• Capability to coordinate work across teams not directly managed.

• Clear communication of release plans, timelines, and progress to stakeholders, IT leaders, and internal teams is essential.

• Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Miro, Databricks, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred.

• Experience with a global capability center or similar offshore organization is preferred.

• Familiarity with dual-track discovery delivery methods is preferred.

• Ability to pass a criminal background check and verification of employment, education, and licensing is required.
