This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the product outcome for a delivery team, managing everything from problem definition to accepted, in-production software.
• Manage the roadmap commitments and uphold quality standards.
• Direct AI coding agents across Interactive, Supervised, and Fully Autonomous execution modes.
• Choose the appropriate agent execution mode for each workstream, considering risk and measured reliability.
• Implement production front-end code directly from the engineering team's repository, subject to engineering review.
• Apply product and design rigor throughout discovery, user research, information architecture, interaction design, and prioritization.
• Create prompts, evaluation criteria, and acceptance criteria for agent-executable work and verifier validation.
• Enforce human review gates and accessibility standards in collaboration with the lead engineer.
• Ensure that WCAG conformance and compliance requirements are integrated from the beginning.
• Establish and maintain the team's delivery cadence.
• Contribute enhancements to the shared operating model utilized by other delivery teams.
• Refine the cross-team product-and-design operating model.
• Support increased autonomy ratios through measured agent reliability.
• Develop a design system and component library utilized by agents.
• Mentor additional product-and-design engineering leads as the model scales.
• Proven experience in end-to-end product delivery as a builder: owning a product surface from start to finish, making product decisions, designing the user experience, and personally writing front-end code deployed to production users.
• Proficient in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React or a similar framework.
• Strong skills in CSS.
• Ability to navigate seamlessly between design files and application code.
• Demonstrated expertise in information architecture, interaction design, and accessibility (WCAG).
• Practical experience using coding agents in production work, including an understanding of failure modes and quality/review controls.
• Proven track record of defining a process, pattern, or standard that has been adopted by other practitioners.
• Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous situations.
• Preferred: Experience shipping products within FedRAMP, FedRAMP High, defense, financial services, healthcare, or any NIST 800-53 / SOC 2 / HIPAA-bound environment.
• Preferred: Experience in public-sector or govtech product development.
• Preferred: Experience in building or maintaining a component library used across multiple teams.
• Preferred: Experience in an evaluation-driven or test-first engineering culture at a leading software organization.
