AI Product Community Manager – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Establish the community strategy for a new AI product

• Identify the target community, member value proposition, and growth framework

• Create a valuable, trustworthy, and well-managed environment for highly engaged users

• Develop programs for ambassadors, advocates, and power users

• Design and evaluate engagement initiatives

• Produce scalable programs and toolkits for member-led events and meetups

• Collaborate with social, branding, and creative teams to enhance community contributions

• Foster adoption in new markets through community-driven outreach

• Investigate AI-enabled personalized and scalable community experiences

• Team up with growth teams on referral and invitation strategies

• Identify creators, advocates, and early adopters who produce captivating content

• Transform community engagement into advocacy, referrals, and organic growth

• Analyze community behavior, engagement metrics, and results from experiments

• Provide user stories, use cases, and emerging behaviors to marketing and product teams

• Test, learn, and expand community programs

• Convert user behavior, feedback, AI use cases, requests, and friction into insights for Product and Engineering

• Discover actual product uses and unanticipated behaviors

• Establish feedback loops between early adopters and product roadmap teams

• Manage community health metrics, including activity, retention, sentiment, advocacy, and community-driven growth

• Integrate qualitative feedback with participation and behavioral data

• Ensure effective feedback pathways between product and community

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in community management, social engagement, developer relations, creator programs, product advocacy, or related fields

• Proven experience supporting at least one consumer technology product at a significant scale

• Experience in establishing an ambassador, advocate, creator, or superuser program from inception

• Proven track record of bringing community programs from concept to launch, testing effectiveness, and quickly iterating

• Strong interest in artificial intelligence and AI-related products

• Preferred experience in building communities around AI, generative AI, emerging technology, or highly technical products

• Ideal experience in engaging early adopters or technically curious users with rapidly evolving products

• Experience in scaling online communities through automation, defined roles, governance, escalation procedures, and scalable processes

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to utilize community behavior, engagement data, and qualitative feedback to shape strategy

• Capability to convert community insights into actionable recommendations for Product and Engineering

• Excellent writing skills and a genuine voice

• Understanding of internet culture and human-centered communication

• Comfort in operating within an early-stage environment

• Proven ability to build trust as a fundamental aspect of the community experience

• Direct experience with AI, generative AI, AI-powered consumer products, AI agents, or communities focused on emerging technology is a plus

• Experience in launching or managing beta, early-access, or design-partner programs is advantageous

• Familiarity with highly engaged early adopters and translating their feedback into product insights is beneficial

• Experience in utilizing AI, automation, or personalization to enhance community engagement or operations is preferred

• Experience in building community on an international scale is a plus

• Familiarity with creator-led or user-generated content ecosystems is an advantage

• Experience with products that have a distinct character, identity, or persona is a bonus
