AI Automation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop, manage, and enhance automation processes across various business functions.

• Identify existing manual processes and implement automated solutions that save time and minimize errors.

• Oversee, troubleshoot, and resolve any issues related to deployed automations.

• Prioritize and execute automation tasks under the guidance of the Director of Operational Intelligence & Automation.

• Create and uphold integrations for ERP, CRM, and enterprise platforms.

• Work with APIs, webhooks, JSON, and automation platforms like n8n, Power Automate, and Make.

• Manage AI tool integrations, connectors, and prompt libraries effectively.

• Construct AI-driven workflows for document processing, data extraction, summarization, and decision-making support.

• Develop, test, and enhance prompts and instructions for optimal performance.

• Configure AI assistants through MCP connectors, API integrations, or platform extensions.

• Monitor AI usage, evaluate output quality, and assess costs.

• Capture, measure, transform, and cleanse operational data from various field and departmental sources.

• Extract data from business systems and utilize it through automation and AI workflows.

• Collaborate with the central data infrastructure team.

• Assist in the rollout, configuration, onboarding, and adoption of AI and automation tools.

• Educate employees and departmental champions on the responsible use of tools.

• Develop user-facing guides, documentation, and training materials.

• Write Python scripts for data transformation, API interactions, file processing, and custom logic applications.

• Implement version control, error handling, and maintain clear documentation.

• Assume responsibility for the health of automation processes and improve workflows over time.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hands-on experience in creating business automations and integrations using contemporary workflow and automation platforms such as n8n, Power Automate, Make, Zapier, or similar tools.

• Experience in connecting systems through APIs, webhooks, and connectors, along with working with structured data (JSON).

• Practical knowledge of AI / LLM tools, linking them to workflows, crafting effective prompts, and managing integrations.

• Proficiency in Python, including scripting, API calls, JSON processing, data transformation, and error handling.

• Ability to capture, transform, and manipulate data from multiple sources.

• Flexibility across modern ERP, CRM, and enterprise platforms.

• Strong troubleshooting capabilities along with a self-directed and execution-oriented work ethic.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to educate non-technical colleagues on new tools.

• Capability to convey detailed and precise instructions and information verbally.

• Ability to hear with or without correction to accurately receive and interpret detailed information.

• Capability to sit at a desk workstation for extended and brief durations.

• Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry a minimum of 10 pounds.

• Ability to walk and stand occasionally.

• Visual acuity with or without correction for reading contract information and viewing computer monitor data.

• Ability to use hands and fingers to type, handle, feel, and reach.

• May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.

• Preferred: Experience utilizing AI provider APIs in production workflows.

• Preferred: Familiarity with ERP and/or CRM integration and automation.

• Preferred: SQL or other database query experience.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting enterprise tool rollouts and user adoption/training.

• Preferred: Knowledge of responsible-AI and data handling practices.

• Preferred: Experience with version control (Git).

• Preferred: Background or interest in construction, contracting, or project-based sectors.
