Agriculture Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ghana, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee agricultural services throughout Africa, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timely delivery, and compliance with accreditation requirements.

• Act as the Regional Engagement Lead, allocating 70% of efforts towards agriculture services and 30% towards regional engagement.

• Oversee regional performance, resource management, and budget allocations.

• Support financial objectives and implement effective operational processes.

• Lead and nurture geographically dispersed teams through goal setting, coaching, workload planning, and performance evaluations.

• Enhance relationships with clients, certification bodies, auditors, and regional stakeholders.

• Identify and address business, operational, and certification risks, including resolving disputes and managing crises.

• Provide technical expertise through auditing, task management, and report evaluations within the qualification scope.

• Seek business opportunities and assist with marketing and promotional efforts.

• Share market intelligence to guide regional priorities.

• Represent Preferred by Nature externally and collaborate across different teams.

• Build team and stakeholder relationships, establishing agricultural and regional engagement priorities with both directors.

• Achieve regional service, quality, and financial objectives.

• Show progress in client retention, service expansion, and regional visibility.

• Evaluate team performance and development, setting priorities for the upcoming year.

⛳️ Requirements

• A graduate or postgraduate degree in Agriculture, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Natural Sciences, or Environmental Science.

• 6 to 10 years of leadership experience, including business development and managing dispersed or multicultural teams.

• Proficiency in English.

• Excellent client, stakeholder, and public communication skills.

• Experience in managing operational performance, budgets, and business growth in certification, assurance, or sustainability sectors.

• Familiarity with sustainability certifications such as Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, RSPO, FSC, ISO, Organic, or Carbon.

• Skills in strategic planning, networking, sales, and marketing, including proposal writing, negotiation, and closing deals.

• An established network within NGOs, businesses, donors, and the public sector.

• A commitment to the mission and values of Preferred by Nature.

• Knowledge of French, Swahili, or Amharic, or experience with sustainability projects and advisory services is advantageous but not required.
