Advanced Specialist, Learning Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design, guide, and enhance student-centered assessment and learning experiences within intelligent assessment systems.

• Spearhead considerations in learning science and student experience design for assessment and learning features that are aimed at students within the platform.

• Collaborate with UX, Product, Technology, Measurement, and Content teams to convert learning science principles into actionable product requirements and student experiences.

• Offer guidance in learning science for intelligent practice and review systems.

• Assist in developing methods for AI-assisted review and reflection experiences.

• Provide strategic learning science insights for the advancement of the Navvy Learning Library as a standards-aligned instructional support ecosystem.

• Keep abreast of emerging research in areas such as cognitive science, learning science, motivation, metacognition, AI-assisted learning, and instructional design.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to guide decisions related to learning experience and instructional support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess an advanced degree in Learning Sciences, Educational Psychology, Cognitive Science, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Educational Measurement, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience in applying learning science principles within digital learning, assessment, or educational product settings.

• Strong comprehension of concepts such as motivation and engagement, metacognition and self-regulated learning, productive struggle and cognitive load, retrieval practice and learning transfer, as well as growth mindset and student-centered learning.

• Proven experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Product, UX, Technology, Content, Measurement, or AI-related teams.

• Ability to systematically analyze assessment and learning experiences within intelligent educational systems.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to translate learning science concepts into practical product guidance.

• Willingness to explore and prototype AI-assisted methods for learning and instructional support.
