Adjunct Lecturer, Course Developer – Raising Capital

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Formulate course objectives that align with overarching program learning outcomes.

• Develop activity maps that connect course activities to objectives while ensuring relevance to the industry.

• Compose a comprehensive syllabus that includes course description, schedule, grading criteria, and assessments.

• Collaborate with Instructional Design to create course materials.

• Work together to ensure alignment between objectives, materials, and assessments.

• Produce engaging instructional media, such as videos, infographics, and interactive resources.

• Sustain established courses by making updates and addressing troubleshooting issues.

• Conduct class lectures, instructional activities, and facilitate classroom discussions.

• Assess student work and assignments.

• Address student concerns and inquiries, serving as the initial point of contact for student questions.

• Hold weekly office hours.

• Prepare, maintain, and enhance the course in Canvas.

• Participate in program faculty meetings.

• Develop and instruct the Raising Capital course for Columbia University’s graduate M.S. in Technology Management program.


⛳️ Requirements

• A graduate degree in IT, business management, finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 15 years of industry experience focused on leading digital transformation and innovation initiatives in large organizations.

• A solid academic background in a relevant discipline.

• Proven expertise in subject matter pertinent to the course.

• Professional experience with a track record of success in an applied industry context.

• Over 10 years of pertinent professional experience.

• At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably at the graduate level.

• Curriculum Vitae that includes university teaching experience.

• A cover letter detailing interest in the course and relevant teaching experience.

• Online instructors must reside in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, or Washington.

• New Adjunct Lecturers to SPS are required to complete Canvas training.
