This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.
• Facilitate participation in 5-week undergraduate courses focused on Environmental Justice and/or related subjects.
• Conduct asynchronous teaching within online baccalaureate degree programs.
• Oversee courses with an average of 20 students per class.
• Provide prompt and constructive feedback.
• Participate in Discussion Board activities.
• Respond to student inquiries.
• Instruct courses during the designated five-week academic terms.
• Terminal degree (e.g., PhD) in environmental studies, environmental justice, philosophy or ethics, environmental law, environmental policy, or a related field, or a master's degree paired with significant professional experience in the domain.
• Professional or research experience in addressing environmental justice, environmental equity, or environmental advocacy within community, organizational, policy, or educational frameworks.
• Proficient in operating a personal computer and related software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
• Effective and appropriate communication skills using e-mail and digital conferencing platforms.
• Personal dedication to the environmental mission and objectives of the college.
• Experience in teaching adult learners and/or in an online educational setting (preferred).
• Familiarity with Canvas or other Learning Management Systems to enhance learning (preferred).
• Must reside in the United States for the entire academic term.
