This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Provide technically sound, standards-compliant outcomes for projects in additive and advanced manufacturing.
• Engage in UK and international initiatives, including DECSAM and Future Leaders Fellowship projects.
• Utilize additive manufacturing knowledge within a comprehensive manufacturing systems framework that encompasses qualification, inspection, data management, quality, and industrial integration.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues in the UK and globally, as well as with industry partners and consortia.
• Offer engineering expertise for proposals and assist in developing new business ventures.
• Facilitate opportunities from initial engagement through funded and executed programs.
• Take part in technical workshops, standards-related activities, industry conferences, and invited speaking opportunities.
• Aid in program execution, partner collaboration, and public technical interactions through travel within the UK and internationally.
• Background in engineering with practical experience in metal additive manufacturing or closely related advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Capability to apply engineering judgment in real-world project settings.
• Comfortable collaborating in a small, cohesive team across various technical and programmatic activities.
• Openness to challenge assumptions and contribute innovative ideas.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Interest in industrial implementation, qualification pathways, or standards-compliant outcomes.
• Familiarity with metal additive manufacturing techniques such as PBF or DED, or related manufacturing processes pertinent to AM integration.
• Experience handling AM data, including data pedigree, evidence collection, traceability, or digital workflows.
• Background in inspection, testing, monitoring, or qualification tasks within regulated or industrial contexts.
• Knowledge of materials, feedstock, post-processing, or downstream manufacturing factors associated with AM.
• Proficiency in certification and qualification approaches, manufacturing quality systems, technical documentation, reporting, or assurance activities.
• A degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Generally, a minimum of 3+ years of pertinent technical experience.
• Relevant postgraduate research experience may be taken into account.
• Applicants should reside in the UK.
