Actuary Reviewer – Insurance Compact

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Deliver expert actuarial support for the collaborative assessment and approval of Compact product submissions.

• Evaluate product and rate submissions to ensure adherence to Uniform Standards, Rules, Operating Procedures, and Filing Requirements.

• Prepare objection letters, actuarial checklists, correspondence, and necessary filing documentation.

• Track and document responses and regulatory decisions.

• Work in conjunction with actuaries, product reviewers, Compact leadership, and Product Operations to address actuarial inquiries and manage workload effectively.

• Address pre-filing inquiries and actuarial questions from company filers, regulators, insurers, consulting filers, consumers, and various stakeholders.

• Offer actuarial guidance, training, presentations, background materials, and comprehensive reports.

• Participate in and provide support for meetings related to Product Operations, Commission, Compact, NAIC committee, and technical groups as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• A minimum of 2 years of actuarial experience in the annuities and/or life insurance sectors.

• Familiarity with Compact Uniform Standards is essential.

• An Associate of the Society of Actuaries designation is mandatory.

• Previous experience in annuity and/or life insurance product development, pricing, and compliance is preferred.

• Experience with both group and individual products is advantageous.

• Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Familiarity with the System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing (SERFF) is required.

• Candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available.
