Actuarial Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee the development and upkeep of rating plans and indication frameworks.

• Create and execute sophisticated pricing models and segmentation strategies.

• Lead the preparation of nationwide rating algorithm initiatives, ensuring precision and adherence to regulations.

• Set up documentation and governance standards for pricing models.

• Provide mentorship and coaching to actuarial analysts; review their work for accuracy and thoroughness.

• Explore enhancements in segmentation and offer strategic insights and recommendations to senior management.

• Deploy innovative analytical tools and techniques to enhance the department's analytical capabilities and accelerate results.

• Collaborate with teams across Product, Reserving, Data Science, Underwriting, Sales, and Claims.

• Continue working towards actuarial credentials through ongoing exam completion and professional development activities, if applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.

• Strong preference for candidates with Associate designation or nearing completion from CAS, IFOA, or IAI.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in general insurance actuarial/pricing, including leading complex projects.

• Proficiency in Excel at an expert level.

• Advanced skills in SQL and Python/R.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and regulatory bodies.

• Strategic mindset and leadership skills, with a strong focus on governance and risk management.

• Capability to influence and communicate proficiently with executives.

• Solid experience collaborating with US-based business teams.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to work 8 hours excluding breaks, including a 4-hour overlap with core US hours.

• A quiet workspace is required.

• Internet connection with a minimum of 30 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed.
