This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +9 more states.
β’ Conduct analysis of healthcare data
β’ Analyze and interpret regulations
β’ Create financial models
β’ Prepare reports that convey technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
β’ Oversee projects to completion within budgetary constraints
β’ Guide actuarial students and less-experienced actuaries on the technical aspects of actuarial projects
β’ Cultivate the ability to manage client relationships
β’ Effectively generate new business opportunities with both new and existing clients
β’ Collaborate with various organizations, including insurance companies, health plans, government agencies, healthcare providers, reinsurers, ACOs, health technology firms, and employers
β’ Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related discipline
β’ ASA designation
β’ Over 7 years of experience in healthcare actuarial work
β’ At least 4 years in a consulting or advisory capacity, supporting health plans, state Medicaid agencies, or ACOs
β’ A minimum of 5 years of experience with Value-Based Payment models, such as shared savings, capitation, and other provider risk frameworks
β’ At least 3 years of experience leading Medicare and/or Medicaid program VBP initiatives, including delegating tasks and mentoring junior staff
β’ Familiarity with current Medicare and Medicaid VBP programs is advantageous, including REACH/LEAD, MSSP, AHEAD, TEAM, managed Medicaid, or Medicare Advantage provider risk
β’ Proficient in Excel
β’ Some knowledge of SAS, SQL, Python, or R
β’ Strong comprehension of the US healthcare system
β’ Proven ability to present technical concepts in an understandable manner to non-technical audiences
β’ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
β’ Capability to work independently and collaboratively within teams
β’ Ability to modify existing data sources and methodologies to address client challenges
β’ Demonstrated capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, client-oriented environment
β’ An entrepreneurial mindset
β’ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman
